Carleton 2020 Update

Dear Members,

I am sure it will not come as a surprise to you to know that the committee have taken the decision to cancel:

•The Area 14 Combind Training

•The April Show

•The Simon Grieve clinic at World Horse Welfare

A decision will be made regarding the May show at the beginning of April, however it is unlikely that this will go ahead. Full refunds will be provided to all entries for the above. Note that Anvil Park Stud will be hosting Simon Grieve on April 5th, this is not a CRC event but all those with entries will be given the option to transfer them, or recieve a full refund. All Area 14 Qualifiers have been cancelled. We are unsure at the present time if we will get a return of prelim entries and entries for those already submitted. If we get these back, we will of course return them to the individuals concerned. All BRC Championships have also been cancelled. BRC will be providing a 75% refund to all competitors, plus the return of their stabling. We will refund individuals for these entries as soon as we get the money from BRC. Stabling will be returned direct to you from BRC on an individual basis. Neither Easton nor WHW have charged for the cancellation, and this means we are in a position with Anvil and Simon, that, if they would like us to, we can pay them in advance for another day. It is critical that we support these family businesses in this difficult time. Conversely if we don’t, they may cease to exist in the future. So – finally some good news. The sun has shone today and everyone’s paddocks are recovering! We have a couple of ideas to keep your days bright over the next few weeks and months and it is our intention to launch soon some online dressage competitions – watch this space. We have a club full of amazing people… if you find yourself in need of any help over the next few weeks, in whatever capacity, please do mention it on these pages. Take a moment to appreciate the joys of spring, enjoy your riding and stay safe!

With all our very best wishes,

The Carleton Committee
