League Point Rules

League Points:

  • Points can be gained by Carleton RC members throughout the year at club shows.
  • Points are only awarded to current members and points pass up the line if a higher placed person is not a member (for example if you are 2nd in a class but the winner is not a member you will be awarded the points for 1st place).
  • The “completing a class point” is not awarded if you are eliminated.
  • For your points to be valid you must compete at at least 2 club shows and complete your “helper session”.
  • The dressage leagues are split into junior and senior however the showjumping leagues are split into horse and pony.
  • Each league is on horse/rider combination (i.e if you have two horses you gain point for each individual horse) Please note it is the competitors responsibility to ensure the horse/riders names are the same at each show for points to count. Horses or riders that are entered under different names may be not be awarded all of their points as it is impossible for the club to know the names or every rider/horse that compete at club shows.

Rug League:

  • Points can be gained by members of Carleton RC throughout the year at club shows.
  • Points are only awarded to current members and points pass up the line if a higher placed person is not a member (for example if you are 2nd in a class but the winner is not a member you will be awarded the points for 1st place).
  • The rug league is the overall league and is split into junior and seniors.
  • To be eligible for the rug league you must compete at at least 3 club shows and complete your “helper session”.
  • Points are per horse/rider combination.
  • Points can be gained over different levels/heights (i.e all points gained by horse/rider combinations in all classes count)
  • horse/rider combinations must haveĀ compleatedĀ at least one showjumping round or one dressage test (for example: you can haveĀ competedĀ in allĀ six clubĀ  dressage shows but for your points to count towards the rug league you must have completed at least one round of showjumping at one club show OR you can haveĀ completed all six club showjumping 50cm classes but for your points to count towards the rug league you must haveĀ completed at least oneĀ dressage test)

If you would like clarification on any of the above rules pleased contact one of the committee who will be happy to help explain.
