I have been a committee member for over 25 years and I am a qualified BRC official steward and area 14 Rep. I can be seen at shows attempting dressage with my fluffy pony Panda, if you had told me several years ago I’d own a Panda I wouldn’t have believed you however she’s proving to be pretty cool to have around . I have enjoyed many years both competing and helping at shows making many friends along the way.

Anna Savage – TRAINING / VOLUNTEERS

I have  ridden all  my  life and was a member of the Newmarket and Thurlow Pony  Club being their longest serving member representing both the Gosling Cup Team and The Calvert Cup both in Eventing. As a member of Saffron Walden Riding Club I was on all the teams from Dressage to Eventing and rode in the old fashioned Point to Point three times on my own Horse Sha’ir Shambertan at Horseheath. I have been a member of Carleton for many years enjoying representing them in teams.

Michaela Canham –  TREASURER / AGM / TRAINING / LEAGUES / TALKS

I was a member of Carleton years back when they held shows at Tacolneston, so it was natural for my daughter to join when she started competing.  I  help out  Lauryn with her horse Lucky, but now have a youngster called Mggie and in the future I hope to do dressage at the CRC shows.  I am a qualified accountant so it therefore was the obvious choice for me to become Treasurer!

I have been a member of Carleton RC for as long as I can remember.  With the help of the riding club I was able to progress through the dressage levels and compete at several area and championship competitions. You will often find me at shows with my horse Jack, who I have owned since he was 6 months old, laughing our way around the dressage or show jumping arena.

Willow Haxby - SOCIAL MEADIA / SHOWJUMP MAINTENANCE / TRAINING 

I joined the committee in the 2021 AGM as I wanted to give back to the club. I have been very lucky to be around horses from a very early age, as my mum had ponies when she was younger.  I have had Tilly since she was 3 years old, she’s been abit of a slow burner but at 14 now we have progressed with the clubs shows and training. I enjoy competing in arena eventing, XC and SJ - anything where our feet leave the ground. But I will have a go at most things and have even tried vaulting - It wasn’t very graceful. What I love about the club is that its as fun and as competitive as you want to make it & a great experience for anyone that attends the shows and training no matter what level you are at.

I joined Carleton Riding Club in 2022 as I missed being a part of a riding club. My aim was to compete at the shows and do some of the training. Little did I know that I would end up fulfilling a lifelong dream to jump at Hickstead! I’ve found the club very supportive and wanted to give back. Joining the committee was the next logical step. I will give most things a go. And Buddy is proving that he can turn his hoof to most things too. I wanted an all-rounder and that’s what I’ve got. I love learning and having fun together.

I have been a member of Carleton for four years and have had a go at most things with my horse Star. We’ve been to beach camps, taken part in teams and even represented the club at the Arena Eventing Championships. I’m unable to ride due to injury at the moment and thought it would be the perfect time to get involved with the committee and give something back to the club.
